Employers who solely focus on sexual harassment prevention leave themselves and their diverse workers at risk for other serious behaviors that lead to conflict and liability. This important EEO/diversity program/workshop teaches employees, managers and resource personnel how to resolve all forms of harassment and other disrespectful behaviors such as male bashing and “horseplay” before they negatively impact on morale and productivity. This integrated visual and print curriculum’s four separately available instructional units provide meaningful learning in one to six-hour skill-based sessions.
Module I (All Employees)
How to Recognize and Prevent Harassment
Program Objectives
Workplace harassment is a confusing issue. During this program we’ll help clear up that confusion by providing information on how to recognize and prevent blatant and subtle disrespectful and harassing behaviors and for creating a respectful workplace:
- Definitions of terminology.
- Examples of unacceptable behavior.
- Methods for recognizing disrespectful and harassing behaviors.
- Techniques for identifying okay behavior.
- A legal overview of harassment (in participant manual).
Module II (All Employees)
How to Resolve Harassment Situations
Program Objectives
This training program will show you how to personally resolve subtle sexual harassment and other types of harassment and disrespectful situations by providing you with:
- An understanding of the impact of harassment on the recipient, harasser and coworkers.
- Recognition of reasons for why people don’t assist others in stopping disrespectful behavior.
- Techniques for assisting a coworker in stopping unwelcome behavior.
- Methods for personally stopping unwelcome behavior.
Module I (Management)
Effective Intervention Techniques
Program Objectives
During this training program you will learn practical skills on how to:
- Initially intervene when you see subtle harassment occurring when there is no complaint.
- Talk with employees who directly or as a third party received subtle harassment.
- Avoid mistakes when intervening.
- Plan an intervention meeting and meet in private with a defensive and hostile harasser.
Module II (Management)
How to Receive and Resolve Harassment Complaints
Program Objectives
During this training program you will learn:
- How to respond initially to an alleged recipient's complaint.
- Specific questions to ask during the interview.
- How to respond to the alleged recipient’s concerns.
- How to effectively close the interview.
- How to assist resource people during the alleged harasser’s interview.
- About how to apply the organization’s complaint procedures.
Module III (Management)
Managing the Healing Process
Program Objectives
During this program you will learn how to:
- Respond initially and appropriately to a retaliation complaint.
- Team with human resources to interview the complainant and (alleged) harasser.
- Facilitate a meeting between the complainant and (alleged) harasser.
- Facilitate a meeting with the coworkers of the (alleged) recipient and (alleged) harasser.

Effective Training Techniques
Designed specifically to assist in-house trainers in effectively delivering the Respect vs. Harassment programs.
